Google Search Console and Google Analytics Data
This section describes how Zerply collects, uses, stores, and otherwise processes data obtained from Google Search Console (“GSC”) and Google Analytics 4 (“GA4”) when you voluntarily connect those services to your Zerply account.
Connection and Authorization
GSC and GA4 integrations are entirely optional. We only access data from these services after you initiate an OAuth connection through Google and grant Zerply the permissions requested during that authorization flow.
For Google Search Console, we request read access to your Search Console properties and basic Google account profile information (email address, name, and profile picture) to identify the connected account in your team settings.
For Google Analytics 4, we request read-only access to your Analytics data and basic Google account profile information (email address, name, and profile picture) to identify the connected account in your team settings.
You may select which GSC property (website) and which GA4 property Zerply should use for your team. You can change or remove these connections at any time through your team settings.
Data We Access
When connected, Zerply may retrieve the following categories of data from Google on your behalf:
Google Search Console
- Search performance metrics, including clicks, impressions, click-through rate (CTR), and average position
- Dimensions such as search queries, landing pages, countries, and device types
- Property and site metadata necessary to identify and query your selected Search Console property
Google Analytics 4
- Traffic and engagement metrics, including users, sessions, page views, engagement rate, bounce rate, session duration, events, and conversions
- Dimensions such as page URLs and paths, landing pages, page titles, geographic location (country, region, city), device category, browser, operating system, traffic source, medium, campaign, event names, and time periods
- Audience-related dimensions where available in your GA4 property, such as new vs. returning users and demographic groupings
- Property metadata necessary to identify and query your selected GA4 property
We access only the data that is available to your connected Google account based on the permissions you have in Google Search Console and Google Analytics, and only for the property you select within Zerply.
How We Use This Data
We use GSC and GA4 data solely to provide, operate, and improve the Zerply platform and the services you request, including:
- Displaying website and search performance information within the Zerply application
- Enabling our AI SEO assistant to answer your questions with responses grounded in your actual search and traffic data
- Generating reports, comparisons, and trend analyses (for example, changes in rankings, traffic, or engagement over time)
- Helping you understand SEO opportunities, content performance, and audience behavior related to your connected website
We do not use GSC or GA4 data for advertising, remarketing, or building profiles for unrelated purposes. We do not sell GSC or GA4 data to third parties.
Data Storage and Retention
To maintain your integration, we store OAuth credentials and connection metadata (such as your selected GSC domain, GA4 property ID, and property name) associated with your team account. These credentials are used only to authenticate API requests to Google on your behalf.
GSC and GA4 performance data is generally retrieved on demand from Google’s APIs at the time you use relevant features or interact with our AI assistant. Query results may be included in your chat history and displayed within the application for the duration of that conversation. We do not maintain a separate, comprehensive archive of your historical GSC or GA4 data independent of your use of the platform.
If you disconnect GSC or GA4, we delete the associated OAuth credentials and connection metadata from our systems. Previously generated chat content that referenced GSC or GA4 data may remain in your account until you delete those conversations or your account, unless otherwise required by law.
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
Third-Party Processing
GSC and GA4 are services provided by Google LLC. When you connect these integrations, data is transmitted between Zerply and Google’s servers in accordance with Google’s terms and privacy policies. Google’s processing of your data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy and the applicable Google API Services terms.
Zerply may use subprocessors to host and operate the platform (such as cloud infrastructure and observability providers). These subprocessors process data only as necessary to provide our services and are subject to appropriate contractual safeguards. We do not authorize subprocessors to use your GSC or GA4 data for their own independent purposes.
Your Choices and Controls
You have the following rights and controls regarding GSC and GA4 data:
- Connect or decline: You are not required to connect GSC or GA4 to use Zerply, though certain features that rely on this data will not be available without a connection.
- Disconnect at any time: You may revoke Zerply’s access through your team settings in Zerply or through your Google Account permissions page.
- Access and deletion: You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you, subject to the rights set out in Your Rights below.
- Limit use: Disconnecting an integration stops further retrieval of data from that service. Deleting relevant chats removes associated conversation history from your account.
If you believe we have processed your GSC or GA4 data in a manner inconsistent with this policy, please contact us using the details in Contact Us below.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to data processing
- Request data portability
