Signals
AI Visibility gives you a live view of how your brand appears across AI platforms. Signals tells you what changed, why it matters, and what to do next.
Every two weeks, Zerply studies your latest AI Visibility data and creates a focused editorial brief for your team. Instead of asking you to interpret dozens of charts, Signals connects the movement in your metrics to the prompts, responses, citations, and sources behind it.
What a Signal contains
Section titled “What a Signal contains”Open AI Visibility and select Signals in the sidebar. Your latest brief opens first, with previous Signals available in the archive.
Each Signal starts with a verdict: a concise summary of the most important change during the period. It gives you the direction of travel before you look at the details.
Below the verdict, the brief is organized into the areas that help you make a decision.
Wins since the last Signal show where your visibility improved. A win might be a higher Mention Rate on commercial prompts, stronger sentiment around a product category, a new citation, or a Share of Voice gain against a competitor.
Gaps identify the issues currently costing you the most visibility. Each gap explains the impact and links back to the relevant metric, prompt, AI response, or cited URL so you can inspect the evidence yourself.
Prioritized recommendations turn those findings into a short action plan. Zerply ranks the work by likely impact so your team knows what to tackle first rather than treating every change as equally urgent.
Still open carries important recommendations forward from earlier Signals. You can see whether an item progressed, remains relevant, was resolved, or no longer needs attention.
When enough evidence is available, a Signal can also include perception themes and off-page opportunities. These show how AI platforms currently describe your brand and which Reddit threads, YouTube results, or industry listicles may be influencing answers in your category.
The evidence behind every recommendation
Section titled “The evidence behind every recommendation”A Signal is not a generic AI-generated checklist. It is grounded in the data Zerply collected for your workspace during the previous 14 days.
Depending on the finding, you can follow its evidence back to:
- a tracked prompt where your visibility changed
- the full response from an AI platform
- a citation or source that influenced an answer
- an AI Visibility metric or competitive trend
Use these links whenever you want to validate a recommendation or share the reasoning with someone else on your team.
Taking action with Zerply Agent
Section titled “Taking action with Zerply Agent”Every prioritized recommendation includes Execute with Zerply Agent.
Select it to start a new conversation with the recommendation, supporting context, and intended outcome already attached. The agent can then help you research the gap, inspect the relevant data, plan the work, or create the content needed to address it.
This is the shortest path from seeing a visibility problem to doing something about it. You do not need to copy data between screens or explain the finding again.
How progress is tracked
Section titled “How progress is tracked”Signals does not start from scratch every two weeks. Before creating a new brief, Zerply checks the recommendations that were still open in the previous period.
Each carried recommendation can move through one of these states:
- Open: newly identified work
- Progressed: movement is visible, but the opportunity is not complete
- Still relevant: the evidence still supports taking action
- Resolved: the gap has closed or the intended result is visible
- Dropped: the recommendation is no longer relevant
This gives you a continuous view of progress instead of a collection of disconnected reports.
When your next Signal appears
Section titled “When your next Signal appears”Zerply creates a Signal every two weeks after it has enough AI Visibility data to produce a useful brief. Your workspace needs at least five completed or partially completed tracking runs during the period.
When a new Signal is ready, Zerply emails your team and adds it to the Signals archive. If there is not enough data for a reliable analysis, the period is marked as skipped instead of generating a weak report.
Signals is included with Starter, Pro, and Business plans. Enterprise teams can have Signals enabled for their workspace.
What to do with your first Signal
Section titled “What to do with your first Signal”Start with the verdict, then read the first two recommendations. Open the linked evidence for the highest-priority item and confirm that the finding matches what you see in the underlying prompt or response.
If it does, select Execute with Zerply Agent and work through that recommendation before moving down the list. The goal is not to complete everything at once. It is to consistently act on the few changes most likely to improve how AI platforms understand and recommend your brand.
