Scrunch is no longer just another AI visibility startup. Since Sitecore acquired it in 2026, buyers need to look at both the product itself and where it now fits in a larger enterprise stack. In this review, we break down Scrunch's pricing, core features, strengths, limitations, and alternatives so you can decide whether it is the right fit for your team.

Scrunch is now part of Sitecore
Sitecore, the enterprise content management company, announced on June 3, 2026, that it had acquired Scrunch. eCommerceNews reported that Sitecore plans to bring Scrunch's insights, recommendations, and Agent Experience Platform into its SitecoreAI products, and that Scrunch serves more than 500 brands and agencies. B&T reported the price at $225 million, citing Bloomberg.
For Sitecore customers, that's good news, because Scrunch's recommendations are set to show up inside the CMS they already use. Everyone else should watch the roadmap, since Sitecore hasn't said how the standalone plans will change. The old scrunchai.com domain now redirects to scrunch.com, and the product is branded simply as Scrunch.
What is Scrunch AI?
Scrunch AI tracks how AI answer engines describe your brand and then suggests what to change. You add the prompts your buyers ask, and it records whether each engine mentions you, which competitors appear, and which sources the answers cite.
Its pricing page groups the rest of the product into three areas:
- Monitoring covers citations, sentiment, funnel stages, competitor tracking, and AI search trends.
- Analysis includes site audits that check how AI crawlers read your pages, plus a report of AI bot traffic to your site.
- Optimization lists page optimizations and basic content generation on the entry plan, with advanced content generation on Enterprise.
The feature Scrunch leads with is Agent Pages, part of its Agent Experience Platform (AXP). It serves an AI-friendly version of your pages to AI agents and crawlers. On the pricing layout we checked, AXP is Enterprise-only.

Independent reviews that checked the US page in September and October 2026, including DigiJaws and CitePatch, report a Starter plan at $300 a month, or $250 billed annually, with 3 seats, 350 custom prompts, 1,000 industry prompts, and seven engines including Claude, Gemini, and Meta AI. A Growth plan costs $500 a month, or $417 billed annually, with 5 seats and 700 custom prompts.
Both layouts offer a 7-day free trial. Check the page for the country where you'll be billed before you budget.

Where Scrunch is strong
Scrunch's best case is for teams that expect to grow into Enterprise. That tier covers nine engines, including Claude, Gemini, Meta AI, and Grok, plus AXP, API access, and a dedicated account team.
Seats are generous at the entry level. Core plan includes five user licenses, so a marketing lead, an SEO, and a few writers can share one account without paying per seat.
AXP is Scrunch's most distinctive feature.
Tracking tells you if a page is missing from AI answers, and AXP changes what AI agents receive when they visit your site. It's an attempt to fix the problem at the source, and Sitecore cited it when announcing the deal.
The acquisition itself adds weight for enterprise buyers. Sitecore's reported $225 million purchase points to long-term backing. If you already use Sitecore, the more specific benefit is integration: Sitecore has said Scrunch's recommendations will feed into its own products, giving Sitecore customers a more direct path from insight to action inside their CMS.
Where Scrunch falls short
The entry plan is much narrower than Enterprise. On the layout we checked, Core covers four engines and leaves out Claude, Gemini, and Google AI Mode. If your buyers use those, you're looking at Enterprise pricing.
Core also gives you one persona and 125 prompts for $250 a month. That's enough to set a benchmark, and Scrunch describes Core as a plan for evaluating the product before scaling. It's thin for ongoing tracking across several products or markets.
Independent user feedback, however, is scarce.
A GTMRanked roundup found only nine non-promotional comments giving a real opinion. The recurring complaints were that Scrunch reports insights without helping fix the content, that setup can drag, and that the entry price is high for small agency clients. Scrunch's pricing page now lists basic content generation and page optimizations, which may answer part of the first complaint.
The Sitecore future is also unclear for non-Sitecore customers. Sitecore's stated plan is to automate Scrunch's recommendations inside SitecoreAI, and it hasn't said how much of that work will reach the standalone product.
Is Scrunch AI worth it?
Scrunch is worth it for a mid-market or enterprise brand that's ready for Enterprise pricing, wants Claude, Gemini, and Meta AI covered, and sees value in AXP. It's an especially good fit for Sitecore customers.
On its entry plan, the case is weaker. Four engines, one persona, and 125 prompts at $250 a month is a reasonable trial of the product. As a long-term tracking setup, it's expensive for what it covers.
Scrunch AI alternatives: Scrunch vs Zerply
Zerply is our product, so here's the comparison using numbers from both pricing pages, starting with where Zerply comes up short.
The fairest unit is responses, because both pricing pages count them. Zerply defines a response as one prompt checked on one engine on one day, and it tracks every prompt daily on all four engines. Scrunch doesn't define the term on its pricing page, so treat the comparison as close rather than exact.

Zerply's figures come from its pricing page, checked October 22, 2026.

Zerply's standard plans don't track Perplexity, Copilot, Claude, or Meta AI, which are Enterprise-only. Starter's 15 prompts and single seat are tight, and Scrunch Core includes five seats where Zerply Pro includes three. Zerply's trial costs $7, and its AI Traffic Analytics starts on Pro and needs your site on Cloudflare.
The value gap runs the other way on volume. Zerply Pro collects more than twice Scrunch Core's monthly responses for $51 less, and it covers Gemini and Google AI Mode, which Core doesn't. The two plans track the same number of engines, just a different mix, so the right choice depends on where your buyers ask questions.

The main difference is what happens after tracking.
Zerply's blog and landing page agents research and draft full pages for the gaps your tracking finds, and Foundry, a $25-a-month add-on for every 500 pages, publishes them on your own domain. The same agents handle keyword research, clustering, and backlink analysis, and they connect to Search Console, GA4, and Bing Webmaster Tools.
Two more features help once you're showing up in answers. Citation Decay shows when a page's citations start to fade and which URL is replacing it. ChatGPT Ads tracking records the sponsored ads that appear on the prompts you track.
Agencies have separate plans. Zerply's agency pricing starts at $249 a month, or $208 billed annually, with unlimited clients and seats sharing 10,000 responses a month.
What to check before you buy
Both tools have changed their plans this year, so check these before you commit:
- Open each pricing page from the country you'll be billed in, since Scrunch's plans differ by region.
- List the AI engines your buyers use and confirm each plan covers them.
- Compare responses per month, because prompt counts alone hide how often each prompt runs.
- Decide whether you need content produced or only tracked, since that changes which plan is good value.
Conclusion
Choose Scrunch if you're heading for an enterprise plan, need Claude, Gemini, and Meta AI tracked, or already run Sitecore. Choose Zerply if you're a small team or agency, want more tracking volume per dollar, or need the missing pages written and published as well as found.
If you're still unsure, run the same 15 prompts through both trials in the same week and compare which engines and sources each one shows you. If you want a lighter way to test AI visibility and turn those gaps into publishable pages, Zerply's 7-day trial is a sensible place to start.
